Nakina Public School to Reopen – Wednesday, April 23

We are pleased to share that hydro service has been fully restored at Nakina Public School and all necessary safety checks have been completed.
The school will reopen on Wednesday, April 23, and we look forward to welcoming students and staff back to the building.

The Nakina Public School will be closed on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 due to the need to restore hydro service following an incident that occurred over the weekend.

Hydro crews have been working diligently on Monday, April 21 to address the issue.  However, out of an abundance of caution and in order to complete all necessary safety checks prior to reconnecting power, the school will remain closed for the day.

Staff will be accessible virtually for any students who are able to connect during the day.
Should the closure need to continue beyond Tuesday, we will ensure that devices are sent out in the afternoon of April 22 to support continued remote learning.

An update regarding the status of the school will be provided after 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
