School Board and Dorion Public Library Form Partnership

The Dorion Public Library and Superior-Greenstone District School Board are pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with the Dorion Public Library and Dorion Public School aimed at enhancing educational resources and opportunities for students and the community.

 

On July 23rd, the Dorion Public Library presented a comprehensive proposal to the Township of Dorion, which was enthusiastically endorsed. This initiative marks a significant collaboration between the Municipality, the School Board, and the Public Library to strengthen educational support and access to materials for students and classrooms.

 

"We are thrilled to embark on this partnership with Dorion Public Library," said Director of Education Nicole Morden Cormier. "This collaboration aligns perfectly with our strategic mission to work together to engage students through meaningful learning and empower them to build the skills needed to be successful today and in the future. In addition, it is vital to engage in mutually beneficial partnerships with municipalities as we ensure that we provide the best and most fiscally responsible education for all students."

 

The joint effort will see the School Board and the Public Library working closely together, ensuring that all enhancements are in place for the upcoming school year. This proactive approach aims to seamlessly integrate expanded resources and services that will benefit students from day one.

 

The Township of Dorion is dedicated to fostering community growth and development through strategic partnerships and initiatives that benefit residents of all ages.  According to the Chair of the Library, "The Dorion Public Library Board is excited about this collaboration, which promises to bring enhanced resources and opportunities to the children of our community.  We believe in providing enriching library experiences that enrich the lives of community members and supporting lifelong learning.”  

 

The Dorion Public School plays a crucial role in our community by providing free access to educational, technological, and cultural materials and services. This partnership underscores our shared commitment to fostering success and enriching lives throughout Dorion.
