SGDSB Announces New Vice-Principal for Schreiber Public School
MARATHON, Ontario – The Superior-Greenstone District School Board is thrilled to announce the appointment of Mr. Aaron Fewkes as the new Vice-Principal, succeeding Vice-Principal Jennifer Mikus, who has led with distinction for this past year and has recently accepted a position with Lakehead Public Schools. Mr. Aaron Fewkes brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep passion for education, particularly in the realms of leadership and special education.
In a statement regarding his new role, Mr. Fewkes expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Schreiber community, stating, "As someone who lives, breathes, and aspires to create educational spaces that serve communities for the better, the opportunity to lead Schreiber Public School into the future is something I consider a privilege to be able to do. Having visited Schreiber Public School (and the area) recently, I was excited by many things I initially felt and saw; I am someone who has always been inspired by potential! Some of the strengths I saw very quickly include: a small community/school similar to my upbringing, a community that pitches in and is always willing to lend a helping hand, and a landscape rich with beauty and opportunity. I am confident that together we can honour legacy while setting new direction for school improvement and ultimately catapult student achievement; we all want what is best for children! I hope to learn by listening, inspire through commitment, and reflect on transformational change from a place of pride in our hearts, short-term and long-term. I look forward to meeting all stakeholders beginning over the Summer months and through the Fall as I make my transition with the support of Mrs. Mikus & Mrs. Buchan."
Mr. Fewkes' extensive background in educational leadership, coupled with his commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments, makes him an ideal candidate to lead Schreiber Public School into its next chapter of success. His dedication to collaboration and student-centered approaches align seamlessly with the Superior-Greenstone District School Board's values and goals.
