Minor Vehicle Incident at MTPS

MARATHON, Ontario –  On the late afternoon of Wednesday, June 12, a minor traffic incident occurred in the parking lot of Margaret Twomey Public School.  Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

 

The collision involved a parked school bus and a pickup truck in the bus loading area around 3:00 p.m.  The Ontario Provincial Police promptly arrived at the scene, and after assessment, the bus was deemed safe with no damage reported.

 

"The safety of our students is always our top priority," stated Will Goodman, Acting Director of Education of Superior-Greenstone District School Board. "We want to assure parents and the community that all necessary measures have been taken, and further updates will be provided if necessary."

 

Despite the collision, police have confirmed that no injuries were reported for the four students and the driver of the bus.  Additionally, the driver of the pickup truck involved in the incident was not injured, and the vehicle sustained minor damage.

 

Superior-Greenstone District School Board appreciates the swift response of emergency services and extends gratitude for their assistance.
