Kindergarten registrations for the 2024-2025 school year are now being accepted at all elementary schools within Superior-Greenstone District School Board.  Children who turn four years old before December 31, 2024 are eligible to attend Kindergarten in September 2024.  Parents are welcome to register their child anytime at the public school in their area. Full day Kindergarten programming offered in the Board honours every child as a creative and resourceful learner.

Early Years System Principal Amanda Gyori highlighted several key areas of the Kindergarten Program and explained that the “classrooms are dynamic spaces where hands-on learning experiences take center stage.  Students actively engage in experiments, projects, and activities that make learning come to life.  Our passionate and highly qualified educators are committed to creating a positive and supportive learning environment as they leverage innovative teaching methods to inspire curiosity and instill a lifelong love for learning.  Superior-Greenstone District School Board embraces the digital age, by integrating technology into the curriculum to prepare students for the challenges of the future.  Interactive learning tools and educational apps enhance the learning experience in a fun and engaging manner.  Our School Board recognizes the importance of a strong partnership between schools and families and our programs encourage parent involvement, ensuring that learning extends beyond the classroom and into the home.”

“We endeavor to provide an inquiry-based learning environment that focuses on the strengths and interest of each child,” said Director of Education Nicole Morden Cormier.  “At Superior-Greenstone District School Board, we are dedicated to preparing students for the ever-evolving global landscape.  Our curriculum is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for success in the 21st century,” said Morden Cormier.  Our schools provide a safe and inclusive space where diversity is celebrated, and every child feels valued.  We believe in the power of community collaboration and our schools actively engage with local communities to create a supportive network for our students and their families.  Outdoor learning experiences are at the heart of our programming.”

Parents and guardians are encouraged to explore the enriching opportunities that Superior-Greenstone District School Board offers to their children.  Following registration, parents can expect to receive an invitation to the school’s Welcome to Kindergarten (WTK) Program. These sessions are to be scheduled before mid-June will provide an opportunity for parent orientation. WTK involves parents and children in the exploration of the resources and features of play-based, inquiry learning.
